A free personality and career test for the frum community
Discover Your Path is a free, two-part personality and career assessment built for the frum and yeshivish community — in Lakewood and out of town. It takes about 20 minutes. You can stop in the middle and come back. And it ends in a report that names real jobs and the training each one actually needs, instead of a page of compliments about your strengths.
What this test is
Part 1 asks about how you actually operate: how you make decisions, what drains you, what you would choose if nobody was watching, and what you need from a job in real life — hours, people, pressure, quiet, income. Part 2 asks what work pulls you and what you would trade away to get it. The questions adapt as you go: what you answer early changes what gets asked next.
The career half was researched for this community rather than translated from a general personality test: which lanes actually hire here, what the schedule really looks like in a frum office, and which training routes exist — frum training programs, short certificates, degree and bridge tracks, and learning on the job. That research is what the job directions are drawn from.
Who it is for
- Bochurim and yungeleit thinking seriously about parnassah for the first time, including someone who is not sure yet whether they want to stay in learning full time.
- Women choosing a first career, or coming back to work after years at home and wondering what still counts on a résumé.
- A baal habayis in a job that pays but does not fit, who wants the alternatives named rather than hinted at.
- People in Lakewood, out of town, or planning to be in Eretz Yisroel who want work that travels with them.
- Anyone who has been told “you should do X” and wants a second opinion that is not just a compliment.
Frum, yeshivish, heimish, working or learning. The questions assume that world — its calendar, its community, its tradeoffs — instead of asking you to translate your life into someone else's categories.
About 20 minutes, and you can stop in the middle
About 20 minutes for the whole thing, in two parts. There is no short version and no teaser: twenty minutes is the product, and the report is worth more than a five-minute version of it would be.
You can stop at any question. Your progress is saved to your account, so you can come back the next day — or the next week, on a different device — and carry on from the question you left. Nothing is lost by putting it down.
What the final report contains
Part 1
Personality, strengths, and what to watch
- How you tend to operate.
- Your strengths, your pressure points, and what to watch.
- What work actually pulls you.
- The conditions that matter in real life: hours, environment, pace, income.
- Be careful about — the honest risks, in plain words.
- Where you said the options did not settle it, reported as a real answer.
Part 2
Job directions and why they fit
- Named roles — actual jobs, not categories.
- Why this one fits you, in your own terms.
- The next step, including what training the role really needs.
- What to watch for in that role.
- Held back, and why: a role that collides with something you said is shown with the collision quoted, never quietly dropped.
When every candidate collides with something you told us, the report names the least-worst option, says plainly that that is what it is, and tells you what you would have to bend. It never ends on an empty list. It also ends with questions to take forward — to a rebbe, a mentor, or someone already doing the work — and a discussion box that answers from your saved report.
How signing in works
Sign-in is your Lakewood Phone & Tech account: enter your email address and password, or continue with Google. Either way you are in. Anyone can create an account — you do not have to be a shop customer, you do not have to buy anything, and the test is free.
Your answers belong to you: someone else who takes the test cannot see them, and signing out clears the copy kept in this browser. Because this is a beta, the shop does review reports in order to improve the tool — that review is how the report gets better, and it is the honest trade for a free assessment.
This is a beta, and what that means
BetaThis is a beta preview: the report improves as more people use it, and telling us what is wrong is the most useful thing a visitor can do.
It is not scientifically validated and not clinically validated. It is not a diagnosis, not a clinical tool, and not settled career advice. It is a structured second opinion to carry into a conversation with someone who knows you and knows the parnassah landscape — and the report is written to be argued with, not obeyed.

Start the free test — about 20 minutesQuestions people ask before starting
- Is this frum personality test really free?
- Yes. There is no charge to take it and no charge for the report, and while the product is in beta there is no paid tier at all. You sign in with your Lakewood Phone & Tech account — your email address and password, or Google — and you do not need to be a shop customer or buy anything.
- How long does it take, and can I stop in the middle?
- About 20 minutes, in two parts. You can stop at any question: your progress is saved to your account, and you can come back later — on the same device or a different one — and carry on from the question you left.
- Who is this Jewish career test for?
- Frum and yeshivish people thinking about parnassah: bochurim and yungeleit starting out, women choosing a first career or coming back to work, and baalei batim considering a change — in Lakewood, out of town, or planning to be in Eretz Yisroel. The career material was researched for this community rather than adapted from a general test.
- What is in the final report?
- Part 1 is personality: how you tend to operate, your strengths and pressure points, what work actually pulls you, the conditions that matter in real life, and what to be careful about. Part 2 is job directions: named roles, why each one fits, the training each role actually needs, and what to watch — including roles that collide with something you said, shown with the collision named instead of quietly dropped.
- Is it scientifically or clinically validated?
- No, and it does not claim to be. It is a beta preview built on a structured question set and career material researched for this community, and the report improves as more people use it. It is not a diagnosis, not a clinical tool, and not settled career advice — the report ends with questions to take to a rebbe, a mentor, or someone already doing the work.
- Do I need a Lakewood Phone & Tech account already?
- No. Sign-in uses your Lakewood Phone & Tech account — your email address and password, or Google — and anyone can create an account on the spot. Nothing about the test requires you to have been a customer, and signing out of this assessment never signs you out of Lakewood Phone & Tech.
